Hello! and welcome to a new blog series called Weekend Wishlist. I’m not going to be too prescriptive about this, the content will be varied and will include anything from a style edit to a delicious recipe for us to try. I can’t promise that it will be a weekly feature as my work commitments take me away from the blog so much but I am excited about it and will do my best to update it regularly.
After spending last Saturday at the Sheerluxe Fashion Day I have spring style very much on my mind which is ironic as it’s currently snowing outside! There was a lot of talk of lilac hues and we should all be wearing and white ankle boots apparently. I’m not sure about either of those trends to be honest but I’m keeping an open mind.
My picks for this week are on the slightly more conservative side and chosen because I know they’ll inject a spring-like crispness (is that a thing?) into my wardrobe.
Bring on spring!
First up is outerwear and what could be better for spring than classic trench coat? I confess that I already have a very nice one from Hobbs and it’s incredibly well made but I’ve always found the fabric a bit too thick and stiff so I am on the hunt for something more lightweight. I stumbled upon this Maison de Nimnes trench and really love the colour, its also in the midseason sale!
I recently discovered RI Studio by River Island, a higher end version of their usual offering. I’m not a big fan of River Island but the ditsy print and frills on this dress have given me all the heart-eye emoji feels. There is a pretty blouse version too.
Other items on my weekend wish list include this tie waist shirt and a pair of white leather converse that I simply can’t get out of my head. They are so simple but I can think of a dozen outfits I could wear them with so they are definitely coming home with me. In terms of accessories, gold hoops are very much a thing for me but I have never owned a decent pair and as it’s my birthday month I’m adding a pair of gold Dinny Hall Bamboo hoops to my wish list.
My skin treat of choice this is week is Clinique Moisture Surge – I bought a travel size at the airport recently for £7 and I’m hooked. It’s light weight formula feels a bit like a serum and sinks quickly into the skin, perfect for when your skin feels parched.
That’s all from me for now, I have lots of content planned and I look forward to sharing it with you soon. Have a great weekend!
