Autumn Style with Seven Boot Lane

Autumn style with Seven Boot Lane

There’s something about that first cold snap of the season that gets me every time. I marvel at the autumn colours and I’m drawn to texture and muted tones. The thought of wrapping up in warm layers makes me quite excited (yes, I should get out more) but it makes me feel slightly melancholy too (anyone else?) and my instinct is to jump straight into hibernation mode.

Hunker down and batten down the hatches

I make a big old fuss around the house to make way for chunky blankets and the odd seasonal update – usually in the form of soft furnishings and scented candles. However, it’s not just the house that gets the hibernation mode treatment, my wardrobe gets a little shake-up too.

Usually an investment in the form of a coat or new shoes and a couple of less considered trend pieces like this, slightly mad, faux fur/ basket bag from Zara.

I have collaborated with Seven Boot Lane  to bring you this post in which I share one of my favourite looks for autumn. Seven Boot Lane are an independent footwear brand. I had absolutely no qualms about working with them because the quality is excellent and I have genuinely been in love with the Kylie suede boots featured in this post for an entire year!

In my opening paragraph I mentioned that I am drawn to texture and muted tones and this outfit ticks all those boxes for me. Everything I am wearing is warm, tactile a feels luxe even though it’s mostly from the high street.

The hero pieces you will wear over and over again

It is essentially is made up of a few hero pieces that you can wear over and over again. Starting with the cream jumper, this was a gift from M&Co and it’s a great twist on the classic cream sweater. The metallic studs on the sleeves really give it an edge. I’m keen to wear over a maxi dress or even under one of those 90s inspired slip dresses.

I think I have now reached the point where I can no longer live without coated or leather look trousers. I bought a pair in burgundy and black last year and wore them to death. I am wearing the pull-on coated leggings from Next here and they are in store now if you would like a pair. I’m so into these that I have started thinking about upgrading to the real deal but specialist dry cleaning requirements really put me off.

I digress, the stars of the show here are these lovely boots and my biker jacket, both are an investment but so worth it. I wear the biker jacket pretty much all year round and it goes with everything. As for the boots, they have lived up to expectations so far. They are warm and super comfortable and you can trust me because I have been wearing them in the shop where I have to stand up for about 10 hours a day so I know what I’m talking about. Also it’s just so nice to wear something a bit different and not from the high street.

Over to you, are you a fan of furry boots and biker jackets? What’s your favourite autumn look?

Antonia x

Please don’t be put off by the dry-cleaning requirements for leather leggings. I own a pair (similar in price/look to the Hush pair you’ve linked to). They were an impulse purchase (not one I’ve regretted – I’d live in them if I could!) and yes, faced with driving 15 miles to the next dry cleaners (I live out in the sticks), I turned them inside out and put them in the washing machine. Wool/delicates programme, cold (that’s important – 30 degrees would probably be too warm). Dry flat on a clothes rack.

Long story short: it worked a treat!

My favourite autumn look would probably be said leather leggings and a checked flannel shirt.
