We are officially on holiday mode here at TTO HQ! We’ve arrived in Menorca for our annual family holiday and life has been stripped back to a bare minimum. We’ve gone right back to basics with work, food, clothing and beauty routines.

My parents live out of town, the sea is at the bottom of the road and they use solar power to supply the electricity they need. My Dad also grows his own fruit and vegetables and you can literally go hours without hearing a car go by. Year after year I marvel at how little we actually need to get by and live well.

Tuning into Nature’s rhythms

I was sent the Natural Edition Collection by Beauty Expert to try and the timing couldn’t have been better. The rhythm of island life is gentle and close to nature so this skincare and hair collection packed full of natural ingredients suits my current situation perfectly.

I am a self-confessed beauty junkie and usually any product containing high-tech ingredients makes my ears prick up – except when I am on holiday. Life is so different, paired down and relaxed that I prefer a more natural approach to beauty.

The Natural Collection

This box of skincare and hair goodies is worth over £170 but retails at a mere £50. It contains full size products from well know brands such as Bliss and Aroma Works.

Sadly I couldn’t bring all the products with me due to hand luggage restrictions but amongst my favourites are: Skin Authority’s Quinoa and Avocado oil which is really nourishing and has anti-ageing properties.

Oils are great on holiday, really effective against the dehydrating effects of the sea and sun and they give your skin a lovely glow that sets off your tan beautifully.

Holidays were not made for intensive hair styling. Philip B’s Maui Waowie beach mist contains exotic ingredients such as Kukui oil (smells amazing) and leaves hair feeling soft and bouncy as opposed to the crunchy texture you get with salt sprays. Spritz liberally on damp hair and go!

I can’t finish this post without mentioning the Bliss Mask a-‘peel’ complexion cleansing mask. I tried this at home before we went on holiday and it was great fun to use. It comes in powder form which is really handy for travelling because it’s neither a liquid nor a paste so you can take as much as you like in your hand luggage! You add cold water to the powder and mix it into a paste. Make sure you stir vigorously or the mask will be lumpy, then apply all over your face. Allow to dry and peel off after about 15 minutes to reveal a refreshed complexion.

There are other little gems well worth trying in this box such as Aroma Works eye serum and Omorovicza’s cleansing foam which I have also packed in my wash bag for this trip. Now excuse me while I get back to my sun lounger!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

Lots of lovely bits here Antonia, how nice to try new things when you have the time to relax as well. I’m absolutely fascinated to hear more about your parents place. I’m a huge advocate of solar power & clean energy, we have panels & will buy our first plug in car soon. Enjoy your wonderful family time xxx
