Home Refresh with Sainsbury's

As soon as the first spring flowers appear I get the urge to throw the windows open, give the place a lick of paint and get on with a spring clean. The brighter days and added sunlight suddenly bring all those dusty corners and dirty fingerprints on the walls to my attention and my mind goes into overdrive. I make long lists of jobs that need to be done around the house that we will never get round to doing because I’m an unrealistic ambitious list maker but I do find the whole process very invigorating. I love waking our home up from its long winter slumber.

We’ve been homeowners for about 14 years now and we are currently in our third property. It’s fair to say that I really enjoy planning and carrying out big decor projects, scouring Pinterest for inspiration is one of my favourite pastimes! but it’s simply not possible to redecorate as often as I would like, we need some major building work done at the moment so I have to put a lot of my ideas on hold. Over the years I have learnt that when I can’t scratch that new decor itch a good clear out and a few stylish but inexpensive updates really help to breathe new life into your home.

Home Refresh with Sainsbury's

I have partnered up with Sainsbury’s Home for this post and I have reorganised and refreshed a few corners of our house with some lovely pieces from their Restoration range. This collection really appeals to me on account of its clean lines and understated utilitarian look. The neutral colour palette and use of natural materials keep it looking modern and up to date. The Restoration range works well in our home which is decorated in a contemporary style with some Scandi influences. You would also never ever guess it’s from Sainsbury’s, the quality and design is excellent value for money.

The range includes tableware and utility items. The oak serving board is a thing of beauty, I like to use it as a cheeseboard, style and practicality should always go hand in hand in my opinion. I am also really pleased with the ceramic stacking jars which I have used to organise my larder. I like their minimal design and the fact that I can use them as part of my kitchen decor if I want to display them on an open shelf.

Other items in the range include this magazine rack which is just perfect for me as I am a magazine junkie and wire baskets which are just brilliant for storing all manner of bits and bobs and especially useful if you have children. You can also buy co-ordinating cushions and throws that I am going to have to try very hard to resist!

Are you planning any spring updates for your home? I’d love to hear from you!
