Well it looks like spring has sprung in the UK and I’m over the moon about it. The prospect of waking up AFTER the sun has come up and ditching a few layers makes me want to jump for joy!
Along with those bright mornings comes a sense of newness that makes me want to try some new trends. There is plenty to love this season from blush tones to gingham and did you know that pink and red is a thing at the moment too? If that’s a step too far, why not dip your toe into spring with some embroidery?
On trend for SS17
I have to confess that this trend has been a slow burner for me. This time last year those Gucci embroidered jeans had just reared their head and I couldn’t get onboard but a year on and I feel ready to embrace the trend. Topshop have a pair of embroidered jeans that have really caught my eye, I’m not sure I’ll take the plunge yet but you can easily incorporate embroidered pieces into your wardrobe in more subtle ways.
Choose accessories with embroidered accents
If money is no object you could splash out on amazing accessories like this baby – the Gucci Dionysus
or how about the Princetown backless loafers? Not strictly embroidery but embellished and have a similar vibe… too much? Fear not…
as usual the high street has come up trumps – you can shop my picks at the bottom of this post by the way – Zara is top of the class with gems like this gingham shirt which nails two trends in one – gingham and embroidery. Boom! I’d love to wear this with some gorgeous Charlotte Olympia red velvet slippers. – a girl can dream can’t she?
My high street hero this year is M&S – this jumper is a beaut and so easy to incorporate into your spring wardrobe.
And this one which I just can’t resist as it ticks every box: stripes, embroidery and fluted sleeves *insert heart eyes emoji here*
A flash of embroidery on your feet is rather lovely too, these trainers from Boden are super cute.
Is embroidery for you? Will you be investing in any pieces?

I think my favorite are the Charlotte Olympia velvet slippers, and how gorgeous is that M&S jumper?
I think that i am going to treat myself to some Charlotte Olympia shoes when I finally make some money!
I really love those embroidered jeans!! I’m not sure it’s a look for me because I’m so not on trend with anything haha but there are some really beautiful pieces there! Xx
I think I feel a bit long in the tooth for embroidered jeans, I’m worried it might look a bit try hard but they do look like I might have a lot of fun wearing them! Thank you for stopping by!
