New Season Highlights at Marks & Spencer SS17

New Season Highlights at Marks & Spencer SS17

I love a bit of M&S, my Nan would kit us out at the Marble Arch store every Christmas and then take my sister Ana and I for a milkshake in the cafe. It was such a treat! I really do have a soft spot for Marks and Spencer and still shop there for basics like lingerie, tights and school uniform for my three girls.

It’s not the first store that springs to mind when I’m looking for new clothes yet in spite of its ongoing issues they have been turning out very credible collections over the last few seasons, you just need to know where to look. Some of Alexa Chung‘s pieces were a real triumph, others I’m not so sure about but I’m massively excited about their SS17 collection. I got a sneak preview a few weeks ago and it’s set to be a very fashion-led season so it’s definitely worth popping in to your nearest store.

I’ve seen a few M&S pieces pop up on Instagram recently so decided to dig a little deeper and create my own edit of the pieces that have just landed in store. Some look like they belong in Zara so I think you will approve and better still, you can shop the post at the bottom of the page.

First up is THAT grey jumper with the bell sleeves that Alex from The Frugality has been wearing so well. The sleeves make this simple knit look so on trend and it’s super-cosy too. I would wear it with a pencil skirt or wide-legged trousers.

To carry on with the fabulous sleeve theme, I’m putting this crisp white shirt on my wish list. The detailing on the sleeves give this classic a modern twist. Wear now with luxe joggers or these flat fronted trousers and box fresh trainers.

Emily from Fashion Foie Gras looks gorgeous in this long sleeve lace yoke blouse, a snip at £25.

I’d love to wear these white brogues, I don’t think I can pull them off but they are sooooo cool!

My top pick from the new collection is this khaki pinafore style dress which is incredibly versatile. You can layer it up now with a roll neck sweater and a chunky knit cardigan. Substitute the roll neck for a white shirt in early spring and team with a simple t-shirt and flats in summer. It’s the perfect all weather dress!

Have you been shopping in M&S recently? I’d love to know your thoughts.

All love all these pieces, I am loving M&S this season. I have tried to get the grey jumper but unfortunately it’s sold out in my size.
