Party Wear | Notes from The Style Nurse

Eleanor Hush Sequin Dress

In a rare moment of calm in the run up to Christmas and over a cup of coffee I asked my good friend and stylist Karen a.k.a. The Style Nurse what she will be wearing over the party season and she obliged with plenty of brilliant suggestion then, she kindly offered to write a guest post for Tinker Tailor Online, an offer clearly I couldn’t refuse!

The Style Nurse is an excellent stylist who is incredibly skilled at high/ low dressing. She balances investment pieces like these Chloe beauties – she’s a shoes and bags kinda gal – and gorgeous separates from the high street. Karen has a knack for mixing textures and colours in a way that just doesn’t come easily to us mere mortals. I am so excited to bring you Karen’s party edit, I hope you feel inspired and enjoy her picks which just so happen to be some of the things she will actually be wearing during the festive season.

I’m a big fan of the tuxedo look, a real modern classic and these tux track pants from Me+Em don’t disappoint,  they are the perfect style and fit and can be dressed up or down easily so will serve you well over time!!

This embroidered Flora jumper from Hush is on my wish list and would look fab with the tux style pants from Me+Em.

Speaking of wish lists and luxe jumpers, I would be quite happy to find this Bella number under the tree on Christmas morning….
Bella Freud 1970
I bought this skirt for a recent Christmas party I attended from Zara and it really is a great alternative to the usual black dress. It has enough sparkle without being over the top but looks as good with a silk cami as it does with a band T for a more street style look. The leggings attached to the inside make it so easy and comfy to wear!

If you are after a dress, this one from whistles gets my vote.  Love the fringing which gives a great flapper/Gatsby look, effortlessly glam or this one from Boden is super cute and is in the sale too so get in quick!
Amelie Boden Dress
If you want full on sparkle or already thinking ahead to NYE this looks great. I haven’t tried it on but I’ve seen it and it looks fab
Topshop Pleated Sequin Midi
These bags would be perfect with any of these outfits and definitely on my shopping list for next year.

And to finish, shoes of dreams which will be mine…
Coco Flamingo Sophia Webster
Hope that helps a little, Happy Christmas!

Thank you to Karen for taking the time to bring this edit together, you can catch Karen on Instagram and stay tuned for a big announcement from her in the New Year.

I’m taking a little break from blogging over Christmas apart from a couple of posts that I have already scheduled so keep an eye out for those but that’s pretty much it from me this year. Do drop me a line in the handy box at the bottom of this post if you want to let me know how much you loved The Style Nurse’s Party Wear Edit!
