I am conscious that this gift guide is a little late in the series and it is simply because I have left shopping for the man in our house until the last minute, I just haven’t been very inspired. Boys can be hard to buy for, can’t they? I suspect it’s because the potential for self-gifting whilst shopping for your man is low – it’s not just me, is it?
So, here are some tried and tested ideas that will go down well with the man of the house on Christmas day, I hope you find it useful.
When I’m stuck for inspiration I turn to classic gifts but splurge a little more in order to make them special. This classic crewneck sweater from Paul Smith is a winner and I think I could ‘borrow’ it from time to time too! Then you’ve got pyjamas and by the way, The White Company has a very handsome 40% promotion on right now, including these cashmere joggers for a too good to be true £51! Happy Socks are also fab, good quality and a bit of fun.
If you really want to spoil the dapper chap in your life you can’t go far wrong with Church’s brogues, they will leave the receiver speechless and will last a lifetime. Grenson’s are also a great alternative, handmade in England, and better still, they have a few styles on sale. If you are looking for a budget option I would suggest you take a look at M&S, they have really upped their game in women’s shoes and their men’s department isn’t far behind.
Now, last year I bought my other half a pocket square from Thomas Pink as stocking filler, it was a very last minute buy but it has been a huge hit, sitting quietly in the wardrobe but sneaking its’ way into many outfits. Cost per wear = practically free! If you get it directly from one of their shops it comes beautifully wrapped and that’s a joy in itself.
Other tried and tested gifts are these Bose Noise Cancelling headphones which the Mister says have changed his commuting and air travelling life, pricey but worth it and you know how boys jump up and down with excitement when it says Bose on the box… A while back he also bought himself a wallet from The Ridge which is very slick and tiny, ideal for men I’d say AND it protects your contactless cards from theft in confined spaces like commuter trains for example – a stylish and practical gift.
Finally, I can’t wait to try a ‘cheesy’ gift from Pong, a box full of gourmet cheese surprises. I can think of so many people who would love this!
That’s all from me this year gift-guide wise. Happy shopping!

I agree that wallet is the perfect gift for boys from girls side. Not only it makes stylish personality but offering wallet to a boy makes boy to know how caring the girls is.
