Eight Things To Make You Smile Today

Eight-Things-To-Make-You-Smile

If you are in need of some ideas to put a cheeky little smile on your face then this post might just be for you. Have a read and turn that frown upside down!

The John Lewis Christmas advert – yes! it’s here and it features some furry friends. I can’t say it’s my favourite (not sure about the song) but it has got me feeling warm and fuzzy and Buster the Boxer is adorable! Click here to view the ad in full #BusterTheBoxer.

Reach out – give your best friend a call, send a text, send a card – telling someone else you are thinking of them makes everyone feel good.

Get some fresh air – there’s nothing quite like getting out there and stretching your legs, a change of scenery does you the world of good and it’s beautiful out there at the moment.

Watch Morgana Robinson’s The Agency – seriously, her impressions of Fearne Cotton and Natalie Cassidy are hilarious, some of the others are a bit hit and miss but those two a comedy gold!

Doughnut-and-tea-flatlayTreat yourself to some ‘me time’ – whether it’s a glass of wine, a bubble bath, curling up with a book or watching TV with your other half. Consciously take time for yourself and switch off.

Cook something delicious – we prepared this beef hotpot at the weekend and it was so tasty and comforting. Perfect for a chilly autumn evening.

Shop – GAP has collaborated with The Pool to give readers 40% off full price purchases until 14th November with this code. Make yourself smile by getting a huge discount on your Christmas shopping!

Write a gratitude journal – I sort keep one of these, I write in it from time to time and it helps me to put things in perspective and feel good about life. Keeping a gratitude journal is simple, loosely speaking you write down a handful of things that you are grateful for every day. Doing this helps you to appreciate what is good in your life, the things that you are grateful for. Over time this practice has a positive effect on your attitude, outlook on life and resilience. You can also use this as the perfect excuse to buy some super-cute stationery from Kikki K!

So go on, make yourself smile, it’s good for you!

Lovely list that brightened my day thank you. Great idea on the gratitude journal. Will definitely give this a go. I always find that making a stranger smile works for me too…be it chatting in a coffee shop to the barista or store assistant. Seeing someone else’s happiness is infectious. You definitely made me smile with your list.

Great list! Sometimes we need to stop and realise how lucky we are, so the gratitude list is something we should try. It’s good to sit down and realise there are wonderful things in the world
