I had honestly never come across Brandy Melville (am I really the only one?) until the other day when I was mooching around Carnaby Street. I told my twelve year old daughter that I had found a new shop she might like. She looked perplexed at my idiocy and simply said said ‘yeah, I know. Tanya Burr wears their stuff’ before leaving the room in disgust.
Brandy Melville have been around since 2009, it’s an Italian brand launched in LA. It is now available in the UK but sadly only has stores in London although you can shop online so don’t despair!
I popped in on a Sunday and the store was fairly quiet and easy to navigate. I found a few things I was really tempted to buy including a tan leather satchel (available in store) and a gorgeous rose pink handbag. They had a good selection of basics in muted tones and I was most impressed by the quality of their t-shirts, their price point is pretty good too.

I know on first impressions it might seem like a bit of a young brand but I found several things that I would definitely wear and plenty for my pre-teen too so don’t be put off and have a browse!
Have you come across any new brands recently? I’d love to hear all about it!

Total agreement from me. It felt a bit like stumbling across a hidden treasure chest of beautiful bags and funky tops!
And I can certainly vouch for the quality of their tees – my ‘Don’t trip’ logo, 90s-style purchase has fast become one of my summery wardrobe staples; and it washes well and holds its shape to boot! …probably not prerequisite for Brandy Melville’s preteen market but a definite bonus for us funky mamas
